Qigong for Yoga Teachers Online Training
Next training: Sept. 14, 2025
Now self-paced
You may have heard of Qigong, and perhaps have even tried it out, but have you ever thought about how this ancient Chinese practice might enrich your yoga class or yoga therapy offerings?
"Qigong is more than a set of exercises. It is an attitude that works to restructure one's perspective on life, leading to balance and harmony with the world around us." (Garri Carripoli - Qigong Master)
Qigong is a practice that can beautifully complement a traditional yoga practice. Qigong incorporates deep breathing techniques, meditation and movement, and the slow, circular movements place an emphasis from the very beginning on the smooth flow of energy or Qi (pronounced Chee). The smooth flow of Qi through the meridians and organs promotes greater health and well-being.
Qigong is not a matter of learning something new. It is returning to a deep wisdom.
This online training will:
Give you a background into the principles of Qigong and how they are similar to and different from yoga.
Provide methods you can use to incorporate aspects of Qigong into your yoga classes, including specific movements and sequences you can use right away.
Clarify the physical, emotional and mental health benefits of Qigong.
Offer plenty of practice to embody the principles and techniques of Qigong.

What Brenda’s students have said:
Brenda is an amazing teacher’s teacher. Her skills for educating come through beautifully, as she is clear, organized, patient, and thorough in her education style. Her passion for and knowledge of both QiGong and Yoga are evident. I learned so much from her and most importantly I have been able to incorporate these ideas into my own therapeutic classes.
—Sandra Levin, (RN, MBA, RYT 500,C-IAYT)
I started this training expecting to learn a couple of useful movements to integrate in my vinyasa classes but it was much more than that. The whole training is beyond expectations!! You’ll learn lots and lots of different movements to use in your yoga classes. The energy that comes with the movements is amazing! Plus super interesting practical background knowledge about qigong and Chinese medicine.
The training is very well organized, as well as the manual that comes with this course. The new skills you learn are very practical and clearly explained. Which means you can start integrate them in your classes from day one! I highly recommend this valuable training to anyone who is looking to add a fresh twist to their classes.
—Mariska Vermeer (MA, YT 500 )
I recently completed Brenda's Qigong for Yoga Teachers training. It was a pleasure to learn from Brenda, as she is a true teacher with an in-depth knowledge and respect for both Qigong and Yoga. As a yoga therapist, Brenda also provides insights into how Qigong can enhance therapeutic yoga group and individual sessions. As Qigong is a component of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the training also provided some foundational teachings in that area. I am beyond grateful for this learning opportunity.
—Jaime Greenawalt Boswell (RYT 500, C-IAYT)
I recently attended Brenda's Qigong for Yoga Teachers, and learned a variety of Qigong movements I can easily incorporate into both my group yoga classes and yoga therapy sessions. Brenda is an excellent teacher being very clear, concise, and organized in her presentations. She also provided visualizations of the movements to enhance our understanding and promote the movement of energy in the body. Her background as both a yoga teacher and Yoga Therapist greatly facilitated our understanding of how to incorporate qigong into a yoga class. I highly recommend her training and look forward to training with her again.
—Liz Leipold MS (RYT 500, C-IAYT)
Brenda is not only lovely and gracious, but also a true professional. She possesses great knowledge, wisdom and expertise in both yoga and Qigong. Brenda's course was thoughtfully planned and well-organized with many opportunities to practice and integrate the new concepts into my own practice and teaching. I can honestly say this was one of the best trainings I've taken in recent years. I highly recommend it highly to anyone seeking to incorporate Qigong into their yoga classes
—Beverly Davis-Baird (MA, RYT 500, C-IAYT)
I took Brenda’s Qigong for Yoga Teachers course and looked forward to every class! Brenda is a wonderfully skilled teacher who knows how to expertly weave together the practices of Qigong and Yoga. I can now complement my yoga classes by adding in Qigong for a unique offering to my students. I was inspired to continue and learn more. Thank you Brenda!
—Linda Dunn, (RN, E-RYT 500)
Brenda is a naturally gifted teacher, enthusiastic when sharing what she knows and loves, with Qigong clearly being a passion of hers. Her delightful approach and a warm, worldly perspective shine throughout all her offerings, which helps create a sense as if we are all sitting for tea, rather than ‘suffering through a lecture’. A true treasure as a teacher, I wouldn’t hesitate in treating myself to further practices and trainings with Brenda.
—Dan Weiseman (Yoga Therapist)
I love Brenda’s way of sharing information, her teaching, and of course, the Qi Gong! The way she annotates the Qi Gong moves is really wonderful. Sometimes, when I would do a move that she was teaching us, tears would come to my eyes. I felt like this is such a precious practice, this movement of Qi. I’m so glad I signed up and took this course. It has opened up a new world for me, truly.
