A DEFINITION OF MINDFULNESS
After taking several courses in teaching Mindfulness to students, teachers, and adults in general, my favorite definition of Mindfulness is from Dr. Amy Saltzman:
“Mindfulness is paying attention here and now, with kindness and curiosity, so that we can choose our behavior.”
No matter what age group or profession I am working with, it all comes down to the basic concepts of being in the present moment, being kind to yourself and others, and learning when to pause and take a step back.
